MONEY TALKS
Money Talks started its life as a much talked about sizzle reel, documenting the life and times of Steve Stevens (a known Las Vegas sports tout). It was created by Turn Left Productions. Early in 2013, CNBC Prime had ordered the creation of a full pilot, it was then that my work began.
Turn Left had come calling to create the opening title animation, bumpers and full graphics package (including show logo) to help bring this show fully to life. After viewing the reel and getting a sense of the show’s style and pace, I set forth on creating an opener with some oomph! The lead of the show is all about money, nothing else matters. With that in mind, I wanted the titles to start off a little mysteriously, with a slow build. Ink bleeding into paper, until the final reveal, is Steve Stevens, as the new face on the $100 bill. To do this, I had to find an illustrator who specializes in engraving style illustration. Once he had done his job, I went about vectorizing, and breaking the entire illustration apart, in order to prep it for animation. It was careful, tedious work, but in the end, the effect paid off.
I provided a number of roles, acting as Director, Animator, Editor and Designer.
