GOOD LOVELIES - BURN THE PLAN
This documentary follows the Good Lovelies into the studio, and on the road, as they write and record their album “Burn the Plan”. This was very much a “fly on the wall” kind of shoot, that allowed my camera a real behind the scenes look into their creative process. After 2 months of filming and hours upon hours of footage to comb through, the resulting piece shows the band in a time of transition. Melding their folk & roots sound, with a decidedly more ‘pop’ feeling. To ensure a relaxed atmosphere during their creative process, 85% of this documentary was shot alone by me with only one camera. This was to allow the band to get used to (and bored of) having a camera floating around, so they would end up simply ignoring it after a day or two. I got a lot of exercise running around the studio looking for cut away shots, and reaction moments… so that’s a bonus.
This doc saw me doing… pretty much everything! I acted as Director, DP, Editor and Photographer.
